Wedding time!

The weekend before Thanksgiving Mark and I traveled east for the LaurieAnn and Tim's wedding. It was a sweet time to spend with family. Lots of fun dancing and we got a chance to see some family members that we don't get to see that often.

We also stayed over a few days for our first married Thanksgiving with our families. All in all it was a wonderful week spent east. Looking forward to after Christmas!!

SoCal FIRES

This was how smokey it was at our store. This is at like 3 in the afternoon. There was TONS of ash fall at our store and at one point, Mark could see fire on the hill beside our store. Scary times but we were able to feed LOTS of evacuees and service volunteers... FEMA, Red Cross, Lots of firefighters and the National Guard. Mark and I were reminding that God will never give you more than you can handle. This was a trying time, but he was faithful.

HAPPY PUMPKIN CARVING!

Mandy and Andrew Cathy came over to carve pumpkin's for the 2007 Halloween holiday! Theirs is on the left (skull) and Mark's creation of a surfer in a wave with a palm tree is on the right. We had lots of fun picking them out at the pumpkin farm and then carvin' it up at our house!

Mark Speaking at New Venture Christian Church

Mark was asked to speak about his Granddad and the business at a local church. He did a GREAT job! It always intrigues people when they here that a company in the public marketplace has made a decision to close on Sunday. Mark does an amazing job talking about his family and his Granddad's passion. We were also at this church to support their Halloween "Fall Festival" where they have all these great booth's and roller coaster type rides and such where families can come to "trick or treat". We had a booth were we sold food and did the spinning wheel. Our booth was DEFINITELY one of the most popular!

Savannah Lee

My new baby niece, Savanna Lee Durham! So precious! She is only 5 days old in this picture. Mom and baby are doing quite well and Joey has gone back to the chicken hut so, life is almost back to normal. I guess it won't ever be "normal" again huh? She is just the cutest, tiniest, sweetest thing I've ever seen. I can't wait to go home for Thanksgiving and see her again.

San Fransisco

Well Mark and I went to Oakland for Mark's childhood best friends wedding and we had a great time. The wedding was beautiful and we were able to take a few extra days and explore San Francisco! Mark had never been to the city so we had a wonderful time just walking around being tourists.
It just so happened to be fleet week the weekend we were there so Pier 39 was REALLY busy AND the Blue Angels were there! We watched the last performance over the Bay. It was one of the coolest things I've ever seen. We went to Ghirardelli Chocolate Factory, walked around China Town, rode of a trolley (picture above) toured Alcatraz (way fun!) and paid lots of parking tickets!! Ha ha! Overall it was a wonderful few days to relax, recharge and spend some time seeing a city Mark had never been to.
