London calling

I have watched this show since its inception. There is not a season that I have missed. I'm talking from Alex Michel to Brad Womack. My favorite still, to date was Andrew Firestone. Don't ask me why...he was a total dufus - but I did love Jenn. My least favorite was the last terd ... and even bigger dufus than Andrew. Who doesn't pick either girl!? For everything holy, at least save face and pick the prettier of the two so that you don't look like a class act jerk to millions of women around the world (and the helpless husbands that are forced to watch this show and are sucked in, in the process.) So here's my beef - why don't they do more BACHELORETTE'S?? Clearly the only success story in the books for ABC's history of this show was Trista and Ryan. I mean for pete's sake, Oprah paid for their wedding and they already have a precious little boy. Ok, so I realize that there can't possibly be as much drama in the house full of guys on the Bachelorette as there is in the Bachelor. And I will admit...I do love me some quarky, all out, uncomfortable girl drama. Especially when I can change the channel when it gets too uncomfortable (well really I just pretend to change it because Mark is uncomfortable. HA HA!)

Anyhow - my pick for this season. You know I was torn but I'm really holding out for Shayne. I think he's the most into her - there's just too much uncertainty with Chelsea. I'm interested to see if anyone else still watches this show or am I the only lame that does. If you do watch, who's your pick?

Shayne or...

Chelsea

Just another day at CFA

The other day we got a call here at the store and it went something like this:
"Thanks for calling Chick-fil-A, this is Amy. How can I help you?"

(*In the voice of maybe a 12 year-old*)

"Uh, yeah. Um, Hi. Well...can you look around on some tables for me? I think I left something at the restaurant."

"Sure. Where were you sitting?"

"In the back"

"Um...ok...WHERE in the back? And what should we be looking for?"

"Near the back door to the patio tables, and you will be looking for my mom's credit card."

"Oh! A credit card. Did you leave it on the table?"

"Well, no. We left it on the tray..."

"Which means..."

"Yeah. It is probably in the trash can."

"Ok, well let me go check the area and see if I can find anything."

**On the way to the dining room I run into our general manager that had JUST gotten back from taking out the trash. To my dismay, he had taken out the trash can that the kid had identified to have the credit card in it."**

Back to the phone I replied to the poor child...
"You know, I think that it might have just been taken out to the big trash dumpster. I'm so sorry."

MARK INTERUPTS - "What did they throw away?! A credit card?! I can go look for that in the dumpster!"

Me to the poor child on the phone...
"Uh, um, ok. Well, my husband is going to go look for it in the dumpster. I'll call you back."

The rest is history. Welcome to my life. The conversation I had with our employees as they were watching Mark contemplate actually jumping into the outside dumpster was even more funny than the conversation above. They all had a bet going that he would NOT jump into the dumpster. I bet that he, in fact, WOULD jump into the dumpster to look for the tiny credit card. Needless to say...I won. At least you know that if you come to our Chick-fil-A store and lose your credit card Super Mark WILL look in the dumpster to find it for you.

Win one customer at a time. I love you babe...just the way you are.

...the waiting game...

Why is it when we want to know something, God tests our patience more than normally? Or is it that we are just that impatient? Some of my feelings at the moment:

helpless
impatient
emotional
upset
disappointed
heavy hearted

Do any of you ever feel like there's just some days when it just takes forever for the day to be OVER? "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Matthew 6:34

Every wound that pains or grieves me,
By Thy stripes, Lord, is made whole;
When I’m faint, Thy cross revives me,
Granting new life to my soul.
Yea, Thy comfort renders sweet
Every bitter cup I meet;
For Thy all atoning Passion
Has procured my soul’s salvation.
-Johann Heermann

Tomorrow is new day.

Today is Today

The LORD is my shepherd, I shall want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters,
He restores my soul.
He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil,

For you are with me

Your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD

Forever.
-Psalm 23

"My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry"
-James 1:19

"May the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace." -Numbers 6:26

Potty Training

This is what potty training looks like at the Cathy home. If you will notice I am sitting on only 1 cushion on the couch ... that's because the other 2 will now have to washed because the culprit noted below decided to wake up from her peaceful slumber and proceeded to stare at me while she pottied on my couch!!!! It's like she completely loses it when she's tired! I'm so over it. I'm considering a catheter. If anyone has any great ideas on potty training puppies - I'm open. I really hope this isn't what potty training children is like...

These are a few of my favorite things...

Right, so April and I are spending the afternoon with Nina PicKell, a mutual CFA friend, and she takes us out (after a super fab, ultra healthy lunch she made for us) for frozen yogurt. Let me say that April was quite indecisive about which flavor of frozen yogurt to get - she sampled Oreo, chocolate AND vanilla...settling on vanilla AND chocolate. Then the woman asks her what size she wanted and she said, "Uh, medium". After the woman piled on her chocolate and vanilla yogurt and her 2 different toppings of brownies and cookie dough - April receives her masterpiece...and it is HUGE! She turns around to me and asks, "Holy cow! Why is mine so big?! What size did you ask for?!" I kindly told her, through my laughter, that I asked for the smallest size they had. The woman behind the counter, with insanely long black fingernails, was so concerned that April was overly preoccupied about the size of her yogurt that she yelled over EVERYONE IN THE STORE to explain to April that she did in fact order that size of yogurt. At this point the scene is just too hilarious for me and I decided to step outside. I love, love, love April. She makes me happy. She is just so innocent, fun, pure, honest and considerate. Everyone should have a friend like April...just don't take that friend to get frozen yogurt.

The death of a legend

So I was taking these cutie pies to the vet this morning...

When this happened...

video

Cammy has been a part of my life for 6 years. She is 12 years old. The thought of having to put her to sleep is just devastating. I continued to drive her until I couldn't see anymore because the smoke started coming through my air vents in the car. (No good for trying to see while driving). After being yelled at, cursed at, cat called and heckled I decided to pull over before I reached my intended destination and call my hubby. I then told him (through tears) that this was all his fault (which it wasn't) and that he needed to drop everything he was doing and come trade cars with me (which he did). I love him.

Then as I watched him drive my baby down the street he had to put on his flashers the smoke was so bad. (I did laugh a little though). 15 minutes later he called me and informed me that Cammy's radiator was completely blown and we would have to pay $400 to fix it. SAD!!! What do you do when the car isn't even worth $400 yet, you don't really want to buy a new car. I'm open to suggestions and consolation on this tragic event in my life.
