I start books.
But I can't finish them.
I am currently "reading" 9 books.
I'm on chapters: 4, 3, 1, second to last, middle, 1, 2, preface, last (respectively from picture above - top to bottom)
Why can't I finish one before I move on to another?
Does anyone else have this problem??
I've heard if I read the Twilight books that I won't have this problem.
One of my friends said she has neglected her house and kids for 3 days straight because she's trying to finish Twilight!
She said, "I just want to finish so that I can have my life back!"
Maybe I need to read books like that.

i want to read 'twilight' too! let's do it together...and, yes, i'm just as bad about finishing books. matt is too, so he set a goal to finish one book a month. last update i heard was in january...makes me think he may not be doing too well :)
I sometimes read more than one book at a time....I leave one book in the car to read when I go pick up the kids from school (I have to wait 10-15 minutes in the car-rider line). I usually have another that I'm working on that I'll read before bed or take outside when the kids go out to play. I also usually have a book to read when I go on a road trip.I just read Redeeming Love this weekend on our drive down to Disney (loved it!!). I found some good books at a thrift store that I'm looking forward to starting. I read a ton of books during the summer because my girls practically live in the pool. I can usually read a couple of books a week.
I haven't had as many as 9 going before...I think I would get lost! I would suggest not buying any new books until you finish the ones you've started....then if you see a new book you want, it's an incentive to finish one you already have. For me, when I get a new book, it's like buying new clothes...you can't just put it up on the shelf (or hang it in the closet)!
I read Same Kind Of Different As Me from your recommendation...I enjoyed it too....so, as you finish those books, be sure to let me know if any of them stand out as a "must read!"
Good luck on finishing them!
pick the best out of the nine. take it everywhere with you. finish it. then move to best of 8, etc. ?? let me know how it goes? :)
If you'll get past chapter 3 in the Shack you won't have a problem finishing=) Good Luck!
HAHAHA Amy! I have the same problem. But mine is just a little worse- I start lots of books but I never finish any of them!
Twilight could definately be the answer - They were easy to read and captured your attention to where you want to finish and get on to the next book. I put two other books that I was reading aside until I could finish reading the four Twilight books and still haven't finished one of the previous books...Stephanie started the shack and couldn't finish - she wants to go back and try it again. My mother in law took a couple of tries before she finished it. I haven't even tried it yet. So you're not alone. Just put a smile on your face and keep plugging along...ps the word that I must enter to send this along is humpi hehehe
I'll say you have a problem!! And I have the same one just not as bad! I clearly cannot read more than one book at a time - just doesn't work for me. Dave on the other hand can have 15 going and finish them all - okay 15 is a bit exaggerate but you get my drift. I am working on Randy Alcorn's Heaven right now and I just want to finish that so I can go on to some others I have started. Let me know if you figure out the cure! And HAVE A BLAST in the city!! ~LeighAnn
I don't think it's a problem at all! I also have 17 books going at a time, AND I always read the end first! You'll finish them if they are worth finishing...
I have the very same problem!!! However, I did not have ANY problem finishing all 4 of the books in the Twilight series.
